The Cane
Dream 9/5/04
I can't remember how the dream starts but at some point I am given a cane. It has been sent to help me and alert me to the presence of foes as well as to protect me.
Kelly and I are supposed to meet a group of friends. We're supposed to meet at a restaurant, but there are three of the same restaurants in the area and we have to
find the right one. We drive past the exit and pull into some area (not sure where). But we don't feel completely safe there. We are waiting to meet someone there and then
we can go. Eventually Jose calls me and he is around the corner in the same area. We walk around the block and find him but there is an evil force waiting for us.
"Come on Joe, we've got to go!"
We circle the block again and then start running down the street. The cane lights up and I use it to drive away the evil person, so we can leave. I tell Joe to drive us, just in case I need to us the cane again.
Soon there is a group of us running toward the car. We get in and start driving toward the restaurant. There are two restaurants on the left side of highway and one on the right side. I figure out that we're supposed to go to the one on the right.
We start heading that way but never make it. Soon we are led back into a forest and find a big lodge there. It is filled with zombie like children that are being held captive. They cannot wear shoes and somehow the evil ruler taps their feet at night to keep control. We act like we are a part of them, but soon as it gets dark we
But as soon as it gets dark, we slip out. We explore the grounds. There are several buildings there. Soon we are discovered and a fight start between us and the
evil forces. I am reminded somehow not to be surprised when we meet the real evil ruler--he won't look anything like we are expecting. Sure enough, he looks more
like a little tiny guy. Totally powerless. But he begins to fight with us and it is clear he is very powerful. In fact, we come to realize that we are fighting against
satan. The cane seems virtually powerless and he is about to destroy us. We cry out to God for help and suddenly a whilrwind come and changes satan into a little sheep.
His power seems completely destroyed. God lets us know that satan is not destroyed but has lost this battle. We will face him another day. Then a whirlwind picks him and
his assitant up and carries them away. The spell is broken over the children. I leave the group there to help the children but the cane seems to be calling me to move on.
I leave the forest and start walking through a building when the cane leads me through a bathroom. A couple janitors are trying to fix a stopped up commode to know avail.
The cane turns into a plunger and I know I am supposed to help them. I go in and ask to help. They agree and are surprised I've brought my own plunger. Instantly the commode comes unstopped. They are impressed and ask me to help them. Turns out I am in a school and I become a janitor. I become real popular with the kids(not sure how long I am there but apparently time goes by). The principal is jealous of me but I think he is my friend. He calls a meeting of all the students, teachers and
parents. I think his going to teach them some songs I wrote for the kids. So I start handing out song sheets. He is doing just the opposite--he is going to ban the songs.
IN the middle of the meeting, Satan shows up in the hallway. Every time he appears, his eyes turn totally black.
I call on assistance and two other people show up to help me. We are dueling and I drive him into an office. The cane lights up, he falls backward and disappears. A little child appears in his place--crying. She wanders out to meeting. Then I come out. It looks like I've hurt her with my cane. The principal starts accusing me.
In the midst of the confusion, I slip out down a hallway and into an alley. It is raining hard outside. I hold the cane up and begin to fly. I am flying away. I think I am running away but the cane is leading me. It leads me right to a jeep in the parking lot of the principal's condominium. There is his wife in the jeep with another women. They are getting ready to leave. It appears I've been sent there to stop them and somehow help him. Ask I begin to talk with them, the dream ends.
